■ Day 2   Hiking in Marloth Nature Reserve, Ziplining and a Sunset Ferryboat Cruise

Today is an action packed day! This morning after breakfast we make our way down to the water’s edge where we embark on a ferryboat to take us across the dam to the foot of the Langeberg Mountains and Marloth Nature Reserve, here we will disembark for a relaxing 2 hour nature walk/hike to a waterfall and after a relaxing time swimming we return to the boat for lunch.

After lunch we take a walk to what is regarded as one of the highest and longest ‘foofie slides’ in the country! A "foofie slide" is actually a South African phrase for a ride down a zip line, where one hangs onto handlebars connected to a wheel that travels along a steel cable suspended high in the air. How the line is set up depends on where you are, but for us we start at the top of a hill and hurtle down over 200 meters into the waters of the dam below, a fun and exciting time is guaranteed to be had by all, whether you’re up there flying or just watching from below!

In the late afternoon we board the ferryboat again for a sunset cruise around the dam before returning to our accommodation and yet another roaring fire, a few drinks to toast our shared adventures and another scrumptious dinner.
