Priced at an unbeatable R3 250 pp, on our Cape to Garden Route 5 day / 4 night itinerary nothing is left out as we explore the famous Whale Route to Cape Agulhas (the southernmost tip of Africa!), Route 62 and the Garden Route all the way to Tsitsikamma, Storms River Adventure Village and Bloukrans Bridge... Africa's highest road bridge and the site of the highest bungy jump in the world!! This itinerary is packed FULL of truly exciting discoveries, Big 5 game driving in a wildlife reserve, ski-boat  cruising off the southernmost tip of Africa in search of whales and dolphins, free beer tasting, caving, Route 62 & the Little Karoo, elephant walking, feeding & riding, cheetah petting & tiger encounters, swimming and suntanning on beautiful Indian Ocean beaches.The list goes on... and on!

■ Day 1
The Whale Route, Hermanus, Birkenhead Brewery & the southernmost tip of Africa!


Departing Cape Town and Stellenbosch campus at 8:30 am, our exciting journey begins today as we join the world famous whale route in Gordons Bay for a stunning drive along the picturesque R44 mountain pass overlooking False Bay to the vibrant coastal town of Hermanus.

After an opportunity to take some photographs and a picnic lunch on the seafront, we continue to Birkenhead Brewery to sample some fine beers before moving on to the southernmost tip of Africa in Cape Agulhas National Park. 


Having visited the lookout point we make our way to the harbour where there is an option to embark on an exciting ski-boat cruise to search for dolphin and whales. After your cruise we take a relaxing sunset beach-walk back to our accommodation along “Die Plaat”, the longest beach in the Southern Hemisphere. 

This day is designed to be a relaxing one for you to get to know your fellow travellers, to get used to travelling in our vehicle and to settle into the comfortable routine of life on tour.

■ Day 2  
The Little Karoo, Route 62, Oudtshoorn, Cango Caves & Cango Endangered Wildlife Ranch
   

Driving inland this morning our journey takes us north through rolling wheat fields to the Langeberg Mountains and on to the pristine semi-desert environment of the Little Karoo. D
riving through Ladismith and Carlitzdorp we arrive in Oudtshoorn, known as the ostrich capital of the world, Oudtshoorn is situated in a beautiful valley between the Outeniqua and Swartberg Mountains. After picking up a take away lunch in town we travel 20km to the magnificent Cango Caves! Here we will embark on a 1 hour guided tour of the cave system to explore it's massive caverns and a wonderland of stalactite and stalagmite formations, million of yeras old. Cango caves is a world heritage site and one of the great natural wonders of the world.

After the caves we stop at the Cango Endangered Wildlife Ranch, here you will go on another guided tour to view many rare and endangered animal species, there is also an optional opportunity to pet cheetah and baby tiger!

After this we cross the road to our accommodation at Paradise Backpacker Lodge where tonight we enj
oy scrumptious Ostrich steaks grilled to perfection over hot coals.

■ Day 3   
Crags Elephant Sanctuary, Bloukrans Bungy Jump & Storms River Adventure Village


This morning we say farewell to the Karoo and travel 60km to the coast through the beautiful Outeniqua Pass. After picking up a take away lunch in George, we take a leisurely drive up the coast to Natures Valley situated in the Tsitsikamma National Park, here we visit the Crags Orphaned Elephant Sanctuary for a truly wonderful close encounter experience. Here you will have the opportunity to walk, feed and even ride an African elephant while receiving instruction from a knowledgeable African guide... an incredible experience! 

After the elephants we take a drive to the highest road bridge in Africa at Bloukrans Bridege. With a freefall of 216 meters this is also the site of the highest bungy jump in the world! For those wishing to take the leap, THIS is your opportunity!!

After the bungy jump we move on to our
 
accommodation for tonight set in the beatiful Tsitsikamma forest in Storms River Adventure Village.

■ Day 4  
Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve, Knysna & Wilderness Beach 


This morning we're on the road again as we take a short drive for our first stop of the day at Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve. The biggest game reserve in the Southern Cape, here there is an option to embark on a fun morning's game driving with a game ranger and an excellent chance of spotting four of Africa's Big Five - buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino.. as well as an abundance of other African Wildlife species including giraffe, zebra, hippo, oryx etc etc.

After our time in the reserve we head back down the coast to our fantastic accommodation for the night situated right on the spectacular Wilderness Beach! Here there will be ample opportunity for you to take a walk along the beach or into town, try some surfing or simply soak in some sun and take a refreshing swim in the Indian Ocean.

Tonight we enjoy delicious oven baked pizza's around yet another roaring campfire while drinking a toast to our shared adventures on tour.

Return to Cape Town via the N2 National Road & Sir Lowry's Pass 


This morning we take a relaxing drive home and after lunch on the road and a wonderful scenic drive via Sir Lowry’s Pass we arrive back in Cape Town/Stellenbosch at around 3pm in the afternoon.
